I sent the message below on 3/25, but never got a reply and even though it DID send me a copy, I got a bounce later. Resending From: "Chuck Braden" <> To: <nessus@list.nessus.org> Date: 3/25/2008 1:40 PM Subject: noob question - problem with connecting to server from win client - or starting client ON server I have installed the server AND client on a SuSe 10.3 host. If I try to start the client I get a cannot connect to X server (but the X server is running on Display 0) /opt/nessus/bin/NessusClient NessusClient: cannot connect to X server X Fatal server error: Server is already active for display 0 ps aux | grep `cat /tmp/.X0-lock` root 3469 3468 0 Mar18 tty7 00:01:17 /usr/X11R6/bin/X :0 -audit 0 -br -auth /var/lib/gdm/:0.Xauth -nolisten tcp vt7 If I try to connect to the server from a windows client install, I get check host IP/port (which are correct). Is there an error log I can look at? I tried to find some clues in the client documentation and on your archive, but might have overlooked it. Sorry for the naivete. Bounce message
