Definitely a bad idea. Nmap is very memory-hungry.

I use nessusd 2.2.6.

You should upgrade.

Why nmap (or any other scanner) is not used ?

As far as Nmap is concerned, don't use it (or just import a result file).
For the other scanners, I guess that the .nes plugins are not correctly
installed.
