Hi, The issue we are having with our router is when the Nessus SYN scan runs only, the performance issue occurs. If we disable SYN scanning and run all the normal tests, then everything is ok. The issue occurs before the plugins are run. -----Original Message----- From: p1g [mailto:killfactory@gmail.com] Sent: Friday, 15 February 2008 11:54 AM To: Thomas Jreige Cc: nessus@list.nessus.org Subject: Re: Nessus SYN Scans + Router Issues Thomas, I think the Michel and Todd were on to something. Ron, Correct me if I am wrong but, the UDP and DOS plugins are being depreciated in the newer versions. Thomas, It wouldn't be too difficult to disable to DOS plugins in an attempt to try and isolate them as the cause? I personnally would be intersted in the results of your findings. I'm sure it would be appriciated by the list users also. Good luck. -p1g out On 2/14/08, Thomas Jreige <tom.jreige@sift.com.au> wrote:

When performing scans using the SYN scanner inside Nessus, the router stops working. If I use the SYN scanner in NMAP, everything is fine. When we had the older DLINK router in, there were no issues like this. Has anyone seen something like this? Tom. _______________________________________________ Nessus mailing list Nessus@list.nessus.org http://mail.nessus.org/mailman/listinfo/nessus-- -p1g SnortCP, C|HFI, TNCP, TECP, NACP, A+ ,,__ o" )~ oink oink ' ' ' ' If you spend more on coffee than on IT security, you will be hacked.
