Unless your 'several scans' are configured with credentials and/or
multiple compliance files(which i doubt since are here asking and not
on the support portal$$), then why not just rebuild. Unless you have
some very skewed scans, just enable all but dangerous.

The new versions of nessus are much faster and more efficient.

Nessus wont bother to run all plugins if the discovery/liveliness
phase does not detect the service that is required for a particular
plugin to run.

In other words, Nessus will not run Unix checks if the OS is
determined to be Windows and visa versa.

Also, if the FTP service is not detected then Nessus is intelligent
enough to know it doesn't need to run the FTP plugins.

I scan alot of servers on a regular basis and I enable all but
dangerous and I can still scan 30 -40 servers an hour'ish.

Of course scanning with credentials is faster :)

To all -

I am relatively new to using the Nessus Scanner and installed the NessusWX
client initially. I have configured several scans in that client and I wish
to migrate the scans into the Nessus Client 3.0.1 (as the NessusWX client is
no longer supported). I have been unable to get the Import option enabled.
It is grayed-out. Is there a procedure I need to follow to export from
NessusWX and Import to Nessus Client? Our Nessus Server is running 3.0.6 on
Solaris.

Thanks,

Bill
