Hi Everyone,

I am performing Nessus scans through a Vigor 2800 router to a client over the
Internet.

When performing scans using the SYN scanner inside Nessus, the router stops
working. If I use the SYN scanner in NMAP, everything is fine.
When we had the older DLINK router in, there were no issues like this.

Has anyone seen something like this?

I used to work for a router/switch manufacturer and we'd get reports of
various scanners freezing or resetting when they were either scanned or
were transporting a scan. Reproducing these issues was sometimes
difficult because you had to have the right set of ports hit in a
certain time.

In your case, are you performing scans of the same exact target ports
with both NMAP and Nessus?
