Steven Adair, Thanks for your reply! Yes, I'd confirmed I can connect to the port(1241), I'd used telnet to the port, it works, after I typed some words, like 'exit', the connection then closed. I'd turned off the WinXP firewall on the nessus server host. thanks anyway! Regards, Albert ----你于 Tue, 18 Dec 2007 01:45:20 +0800 (CST) 的来信中写到:----
Are you sure you are able to connect to the port. For example, can you telnet from the client to the server on that IP and establish a connection? On either the server or the client do you have some sort of firewall like ZoneAlarm or something? Sometimes they initially allow connections but then flag them as something else (IPS-like mode) and kill them. A lot of variables there. Make sure you can connect first using telnet/netcat or something though and work from there. StevenHi All,
My environment: OS: MS
Windows XP SP2, and close the system firewall
Nessus: Version
3.0.6.1
Problem: Install nessus with default
configuration, client can not connect to local nessus;
Modify the
listening IP to my LAN IP address, local and remote client can not connect to nessus server;
Error logs:<br
/>$install_dir\logs\server.log
---"scan.exe closed
connection : 109"
My actions: 0. search in
mailing list, no usefull information;
1. reinstall Nessus,
doesn't work;
2. apply activatioin key with 'service
provider', doesn't work;
3. capture the
packets locally, not more information founded;
I need
your help, and thanks in advance.
