Subject: Solving the "cannot parse plug-in" error on nessud startup (on Ubuntu 7.10)

Hi All,

For various reasons, I am using Ubuntu 7.10 and the GPL 2.10 version of
Nessus. One Two clients, the 2.10 compiled fine from source code. However on
a third system, I kept getting errors similar to (sorry I never copied the
exact error):

Cannot load plugin: $plugin_name
error near Line 1 ";" expected.

A truly mysterious error I traced to not using the correct version of Bison.
"apt-get install flex bison byacc" will get you the needed tools and likely
uninstall the offending "bison++" package. I would log this as a bug against
the gpl version, but am not certain where the bug tracker for the gpl
version is.
