Hi all: Thanks Bob I am now able to run the NessusClient from the folder
by clicking the icon; However when I type the command "
 # /opt/nessus/etc/nessus/nessusd.conf. I am getting the message "access
denied, I am just curious if his is something I should worry about.

Thanks
Wally

Hi; I was able to install Nessus-3.0.6 and executed the nessusd
command
on Linux Fedora; However I am not sure what commands to run in order
to
excecute the nessus client (I mean to open the GUI nessus client).

I'm just setting up Nessus on Fedora Core 8 at home after having run it
at
work under Windows for a while, so I just had to figure out the same
question. The GUI client is a separate download. The command to run it
is
/opt/nessus/bin/NessusClient

Another thing that may catch you is that you need to edit
  /opt/nessus/etc/nessus/nessusd.conf
and tell it what IP address the client is using (127.0.0.1 for example).

There's an installation guide pdf you can download. I'll admit I'm
doing the
setup without it, although I do have a copy at work.
