Several problems if I bring in a list of machines from a file into NessusClient 3.0 for Windows (or just type them in): I can't clear the list other than one machine at a time. The list can't be sorted. There's no duplicate checking.
We'll try to improve this in a further revision.
When new plugins appear, they are not automatically selected. Maintaining the list of plugins to use has not gotten any easier.
Actually, if a family is fully enabled, then the new plugins in that family are enabled by default. Otherwise, if you start to disable some plugins in given families, or if the family is disabled, then new plugins in this family will indeed be disabled.
When I scan a machine that is not online, why does the report tab show the DNS name as unknown? An nslookup has been done because I specified a name and the report lists the IP address in the left pane.
Because the DNS lookup is done by plugin#12053. The client itself has no notion of host name, IP, etc...
Why does the report list IP addresses in the left pane when I scan by machine name?
I need to check this. That's probably because a reverse lookup on the
IP does not work, but I'll get back to you on this one.
Thanks,
