What ports does Nessus scan by default?

Generally, the TCP ports included in its services file.

How can the default ports be changed?

On the server side, you could change the value of port_range in
nessusd.conf.

On the client side, it's client-specific. For example, if you're using
NessusClient 3.0.0, edit the policy of interest and select the 'Options'
tab; the port range appears near the top of the screen, in the space
entitled "Port scanner range".
