RE: Windows Commandline

I have a similar question; I had a length email a few days back.

I was wondering the same thing. For two reasons:

1. Ability to use a config from windows cmd-line nessus just as you are
looking to do.
2. Interoperability linux-windows as either <client>or <server> with ability
to run the config. I am limited to what hardware exists, each have a
dedicated role and looking to utilized some of the spare cpu/memory for a
much needed audit.

Here is what I know about the Linux client and Windows nessus server:
I have been using nessus client from linux to start all scans. I have been
using some windows nodes. If I pass the option for the config to the
windows nodes the CPU is pegged and the scans rarely even run.

Running 3.0.6 on everything, not sure if any of the beta stuff will resolve
this issue of eating all the nessus client cpu time.

Greetings,

Can you use a config file or IP list in conjunction with commandline
scanning on Win32 nessus?

Or are you limited to an ip/iprange and policy?

TIA
