Perhaps the firewall has blocked access to its own IP address from where
you are launching the Nessus scan from. Check the firewall logs for more
information on what the firewall may be denying.

Hi ,

Nesssus scan on PIX firewalls with below settings generates a report stating
" *The remote host is considered as dead - not scanning* "

   - Targets - ip address ( no FQDN )
   - Safe checks -- enabled
   - Ports range -- 0-65535
   - Port scanners -- all enabled
   - Select plugins -- 15200 plugins ( registered feed )
   - Configure plugins -- Default settings

Need to customize anywhere since there are many open ports at destination .
