Is it possible to save report data in nbe format with the registered windows version? I'm trying out another application that will accept nessus data in nbe format but can't figure out how to get it in anything other than html.
Not exactly. From the initial page, you can select "View Reports" and then choose the NSR report format to get them into a format that's pretty close to NBE. If you have access to a Nessus client running on *nix, you could you that to convert easily from NSR to NBE; otherwise, scripting a solution shouldn't be too hard -- NBE adds two fields to each line of the NSR results as well as optional timestamp messages indicating the start / end of the scan.
