Looks like you have DNS problems.

type 'host -t a plugins.nessus.org'

until that works, you can't update the plugins, and the problem is
somewhere else, not nessus.

Subject: update plugin error

Hi All,

I recently downloaded nessus for my course work on an virtual machine
and I was unable to register the plugin activation code.

when i type the command :

# /opt/nessus/bin/nessus-fetch -- <registration key>

it gives me an error

" could not resolve 'plugins.nessus.org'

I tried an other method of installing the plugins manually by dowloading
the file.

# tar -zxvf all-2.0.tar.gz -C /opt/nessus/lib/nessus/plugins/

even this gave me the same error

could someone help me solve this error.

Many Thanks

Jyothi
