I am new to nessus, but I am very familiar with some commercial scanning
products. I have a server I am scanning that has a https web server running on
port 443 (no other ports are accessable). When I perform a scan, the report
always comes back with 0 open ports. I sniffed the traffic with ethereal and I
can see the connection to 443 being made and TLS messages being sent back and
forth, but nessus still reports 0 ports open (the report does show dns and
traceroute data). I have tried changing the policy in for various settings,
but I can't seem to get nessus to even report the port being open.
I have a feeling I am missing something basic, but I can't seem to find it by
searching the faq or newsgroup.
Any help or suggestions are appreciated.
Thank!
STM
