Currently running Nessus 2.2.8

Whenever I try updating the plugins by running
sh nessus-update-plugins

I get the error error
Something went wrong when installing the plugins - uncompressing the plugins archive failed.

Is there a solution to this problem which seems to prevalent with users other than those who have the 3.0 subscription version of nessus?
