Fixed it with a reinstall of v3 - and ran it, this time I found the
expected security problems. I guess I half expected that as soon as I
emailed that message it would work, that's how it usually goes.

It didn't say anything about a certificate, maybe it doesn't. I don't
remember how long ago it was originally installed

Did your certificate expire?

I give up. I had nessus run once a while back, on a host with open ports
to vulnerable services I knew about and it found nothing wrong. Thought
I'd try again, and login fails. I ran nessus-rmuser, then re added an
account with a password, login failed.
