Hey list,

I plopped a copy of nessquik 2 down on freshmeat, so if you're interested in giving it a go, feel free to download and try it out.

here's the freshmeat link
http://freshmeat.net/projects/nessquik/?branch_id=65837&release_id=241183

and here's the link on my home area

and if you want to wget it, here's the direct link

There's a lot of new stuff this time around.

        - scan progress bars and fun
        - settings can be configured for individual scans
        - reports can be sent in text or html
        - there's a scheduling feature, so you
can just create scans and let them
          reschedule themselves
        - reports are saved for later viewing
        - and a hoard of bug fixes to make things more stable
        - oh and lots more stuff, just use it and see.
or read the changelog in my home area.

I'm still doing all development on the 2.x version of nessus, so I cant say for sure if 3.x works equally well with nessquik. We're tossing around the idea of using 3.x, so eventually I'll get around to verifying that it works.

A couple points about the next big release.

        - php 5 folk will be able to cancel scans in progress
        - a diffing feature will probably be added to see
          differences in scan reports
        - histories of saved scans will be added
        - further customization of scan settings
        - a new, equally simple, interface is in the loop.
        - point and shoot "scanmenow" code that we wrote in house.

Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks!

-Tim
