We've been using an "update-nessusrc.py" script - under the theory
that unless you run the GUI client, the rc script is not updated with
the most recently downloaded plugins.

The client has no way of knowing what plugins a server has until it
connects to it and receives a list. With a GUI client, normally this
happens when you first authenticate; you could, though, launch a scan
and then authenticate and you'd have the same behaviour as with the
commandline client.

If this is incorrect, great - that's one step (which isn't as smooth
as one might like) we can drop!

You could see whether my own update-nessusrc script works more smoothly:

It uses Perl and offers some additional functionality vis-a-vis Edgeos'
Python-based script.
