I had the same problem and asked the same question. <below>. I ignored the message, and was able to use the application. I then just rebooted the machine - without answer the message, and everything works like a champ! never got the message again. Hope this helps, as I am not sure what caused the message either! Did you have an early beta or perhaps an older version of our passive scanner (NeWT) installed on this machine? If so, can you remove that and re-run the install? Otherwise, remove Nessus itself and re-run the Nessus install. And if neither helps, run the 'debug.vbs' in C:\Program Files\Tenable\Nessus and send me the results *privately*.
