We too have had significant issues with Nessus and Novell. "BindView" is that preferred alternative, however it is not a free solution. Of the 23 servers 11 abended and had to be rebooted. I am using NessusWX for an interface to the server and used the defaults for the scan, except that I dropped the number of host scanned to 10. One of the 11 servers had an app crash and the entire server stopped responding. Is this pretty common for Novell servers, or did I just hit an unlucky combination and blow things up?We had many troubles with scanning netware-servers, of course it depends which services are activated but in general we only do nmap not nessus-scans on our netware-server-"farm" Greetings from Vienna Wolfgang Kantner - -- secure by default http://openbsd.org -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.5 (OpenBSD) iD8DBQFFHDO8gU6QtVOUt00RAtq2AJ44EqamF3tDM6NvMAzV2ata13O6kQCgnpo2 1Ap6DGkp612dz5aK9mMgg4A= =1FM4 -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- _______________________________________________ Nessus mailing list Nessus@list.nessus.org http://mail.nessus.org/mailman/listinfo/nessus
