Try /opt/nessus/sbin/nessus-update-plugins -v or /opt/nessus/sbin/nessus-update-plugins -vv In the first case ( -v ) you get the list of downloaded plugins In the second case, this is like "sh -x" : you get all the actions of of the update : connection to the server, download.... ( redirect the output in a file it can be VERY verbose) Very useful to check what is really going on. Anyway, if you run nessus-update-plugins several times in a row, the second run detect that the plugins are already up-to-date and quit almost immediately.
