My experience with scanning Windows machines for the MS06-040 vulnerability using plugin 22194 is that it only works if valid credentials are supplied for the target machine.No, it does not require valid credentials. Are you sure you did not select plugin #22182 (which performs a local version check on the dll) instead ?
Thanks, that was it. I got confused because 22182 is listed under "Windows bulletins" while 22194 is under "Windows".
