Hello! I am demoing NeWT based on a recommendation from a colleague. I am having a problem with NeWT locking up in the middle of a scan. First, I was using the free (class C only) version and when run from my Server 2003 boxes (I tried four different boxes), NeWT would stop somewhere between 30% and 40% when doing the "all but dangerous plugins" scan. I would let it run 2-3 days just to make sure, but it wouldn't budge. It appears to just have hung. If I ran the scan from an XP SP2 workstation, I had no problems. This was an annoyance because the workstations are on a different VLAN (and different class C), so I had to put my workstation on the server VLAN. But I digress. I spoke with sales and got a 30 day demo code to run the full version of NeWT. Now, from Server 2003 it gets to about 98% and hangs. Same symptoms, just further along. I can't try the full version on my XP box because the NeWT registration code is keyed to the machine name. I'm not sure why adding a registration code would change when the program locked up, but it did. But either way, I'd like to run this from one of my Server 2003 boxes because they stay on 24/7 and somebody can't bump the power switch or whatever since it's locked in the server room. Any ideas?
