nessus-fetch failing

Subject: nessus-fetch failing
Date: Thu, 30 Mar 2006 14:13:35 +0200
Hi there.

We are running nessus 2.2.3 on a Debian Sarge box, and we are having some problems updating plugins.

We have just discovered that we havn't been recieving the updated pluin feed the last couple of months. That is, we have nessus-update-plugins running each night, but it's now failing to get the updates.

We have tested a bit and it seems that nessus-fetch doesn't work right, or doesn't get the right response from the server. It fails after about 30 sec.

nessus-fetch --check
fails without any errors

We thought it might have something to do with our registration code, so we registered again, and tried this, only to get another timeout but this time a error message.

nessus-fetch --register <insert our registration code here>
Unknown error while decoding HTTP response (http error code = 1073900293)

Btw. nessus-update-plugins-gpl also fails, after a long time.

Any ideas to what could be wrong?
