There is no limit to the number of ips that nessus can scan.  Realistically,
you must consider several factors however:

Length of time available for scanning of all ips
Amount of data being scanned (what plugins you use, ie; full scan versus
just web servers)
Hardware performance considerations

We have customers who scan 100 ips with one scanner, and a million with 26
scanners to satisfy the time parameter.  With more scanners we would
recommend you look at Security Center 3, which will manage all of them
easily and effectively.  Hope this helps.
