Dear all, I have successfully (I think ;-)) installed Nessus server and client on the same computer (OS Debian 10). My computer with Nessus installed (server and client) is on the same LAN than the target machine (using a hub), ping is OK. I launched Nessus server and client, then I uses Scan Assistant function, select âlocalhostâ for Nessus server . My problem is when I start the scan, I have the following error message : These hosts could not be tested because you are not allowed to do so: â100.100.100.101â. the address here is just for the purposeââ. * On the logs files, I have the following messages (/opt/nessus/var/nessus/logs/nessusd.messages) : connection from 127.0.0.1 [Mon Feb 20 15:34:55 2006][5939] Client requested protocol version 12. [Mon Feb 20 15:34:55 2006][5939] successful login of nes from 127.0.0.1 [Mon Feb 20 15:35:53 2006][5939] Redirecting debugging output to /opt/nessus//var/nessus/logs/nessusd.dump [Mon Feb 20 15:35:57 2006][5939] user nes starts a new scan. Target(s) : 100.100.100.101, with max_hosts = 1 and max_checks = 5 [Mon Feb 20 15:35:57 2006][5939] user nes : rejected attempt to scan 100.100.100.101 [Mon Feb 20 15:35:57 2006][5939] user nes : test complete [Mon Feb 20 15:35:57 2006][5939] Total time to scan all hosts : 0 seconds [Mon Feb 20 15:35:57 2006][5939] user nes : Kept alive connection Itâs confirm the error message ;-). * The configuration for my user is (rules files at /opt/nessus/var/nessus/users/nes/auth) : default accept * My nessus client version is : NessusClient 1.0.0.RC4 And for the server (information from .nessusrc files ): server_info_nessusd_version = 3.0.1 server_info_libnasl_version = 3.0.1 server_info_libnessus_version = 3.0.1 server_info_thread_manager = fork server_info_os = Linux server_info_os_version = 2.6.13-15-smp I have create another user with the rules : 100.100.100.101 default deny and the result is the same..... It's seem that i have forget to configure something................ Does somebody can tell me what to do in order to resolve my problem? Thanks.
