100% CPU?

Subject: 100% CPU?
Date: Mon, 20 Feb 2006 14:10:10 +0000
Dear Users,

Today, I installed nessus 3.
I am running a scan against 30 machines from which only 4 were up. I ran every test (DDOS) , enabling dependancies, disabling Reverse DNS lookups, scannning all the 65000 ports. Unfortunately, after 3 hours, here I am. The port scan took almost 2h...to get to 99% even though only a few ports are open (OK I know, there were 65000 to scan). Two of the 4 hosts have only port 25 and 80 but nessus cannot finish the port scan. It still says 99%. One of the machines eventually finished.
The problem is that I see 3 running nessusd processes on the machine sharing the 100% CPU. I stopped 2 of them so, I thought, one of them could finish faster, but no... this one is consuming the 100% CPU all by itself.
Memory usage is 11.2%. Machine is frontal, 2.8G, 256M RAM... only for nessus....

Is this nornal?
Thanks
Paulo
