Cannot connect to nessusd (AIX)

Nessusd is running on AIX 5.3 but I am not able to connect to it. On startup of 
nessusd a single entry is made in the nessusd.messages, stating that a process 
received the SEGV signal. The nessusd daemon is not listening when I do a 
netstat
The nessus-core was not configured with "--enable-unix-socket". 
The Nessus version is 2.2.6 
Any ideas? Thanks
