What's preventing you from using NessusClient in command-line instead
? 
You can even compile it without X11 support.

Umm, lack-O-understanding/experience ... I forgot all about NessusClient
as in the "NEW" NessusClient, and I didn't know you could use it in
command-line mode. Sorry. Guess I should get spun up on it.

Wow... that's a bit of a show-stopper for us.  2.2.6 not only supports

-T (and -o) html, but also html_pie.  We use the nessus command-line 
client extensively to script the scanning, reporting, etc., on a 
monthly basis.  Totally hands-off operation, except for the 
remediation piece.

What's preventing you from using NessusClient in command-line instead ?
You can even compile it without X11 support.
