I tried using the following versions of openssl: openssl-0.9.8.a-4 (from Debian package) openssl-0.9.7i (compiled from source)
nessus version: nessus.2.2.6 (from nessus.org)
and just for kicks I tried compiling nessus.2.2.6 with gcc 4.0.3 and 3.3.4. I also tried bypassing the SSL cert all together by using the -x flag but I still get the following error:
bob@machine:~$ nessus -x -c ~/.nessusrc -qp localhost Username Password [6723] SSL_connect: error:140943FC:SSL routines:SSL3_READ_BYTES:sslv3 alert bad record mac nessus : SSL error
any work arounds?
