Nessus crashed Tivoli DSM service and POP & IMAP services

Subject: Nessus crashed Tivoli DSM service and POP & IMAP services
Date: Thu, 29 Sep 2005 09:46:37 -0600
I am running the latest version of nessus (2.2.5) configured to run only
safe checks (non-DoS); I'm using the nessus tcp() connect port scanner with
Ping the remote host enabled. Scans are configured to perform local checks
on Windows using a local admin account. When I scanned several Exchange
servers running Windows 2003, each server reported that the Tivoli
dsmcad.exe (backup) service generated an application error and terminated
unexpectedly. POP and IMAP services fail, reporting: "Unexpected error
condition: call to function CEncryptCtx::CheckServerCert() resulted in error
code 0x800cc801".
All errors coincide with scans of each server. Servers are scanned monthly
with the same configuration (plus any new plugins added throughout the
month) and have not had a problem in prior months scans. Any advice on what
to check in order to prevent this crashing of services?
 Regards,

Mike Hale
