CLI only with reports?

Subject: CLI only with reports?

hi,

Is there a way to, er, avoid the gargantuan GTK install etc for the nessus client? I run a bunch of headless debian boxen and nessus is extremely useful, but frankly all I need to be able to do is:

-specify a list of ip address or hostnames
-specify common settings for those ip addresses: "update to latest set of plugins, perform safe scans only"
-run nessus for all of the specified ips or hostnames
-write an html and text report for each host in a specific directory (which I can password protect and make accessible to a few people)
-email an html report to a set of specified email addresses.

This seems like 99 of what people would want to do with Nessus, I really can't fathom why so much effort was put into a GUI when a bit of configuration and a nice mailer is all you need ;)

In any case, does anyone know of a set of scripts & packages I can use to achieve what I outlined above?

I'm running Debian Sarge.

thanks,

_alex
