brute force attack plugins - hydra

Subject: brute force attack plugins - hydra

I'm trying to get hydra brute force attacks to work in nessus. I'm running 2.2.5 for Darwin, SSL used for client server communication. I can see by looking at nessusd.messages that the hydra plugins are getting loaded. I can find no way in the Nessus Setup plugins or scan option UI to configure to use brute force attacks. Please forgive this newbie question - I know this has been discussed in the past. There is nothing helpful in the Knowledge Base or the FAQs. This has been asked on the list before but there have been (looking at the list archives) only cryptic responses. Is there a step-by-step procedure to get the Hydra plugins working?
