Before slamming Nessus as unreliable, why don't you be a little more clear
about the scanning procedure? If the good people in this community understood
your problem, you could get the appropriate help.
So, when you scan the range is the result accurate for all ip addresses bar
this ONE ip address? The last sentence in the first paragraph is confusing.
If you remove the range and target just that one IP you say you get accurate
results. So, is that the only live host in your range by any chance? Try to
use nmap before using nessus to determine the live ip addresses.

Hi, I don't understand Nessus sometimes. I am using the latest version on my
Linux server and use NessusWX client on my PC. I normally scan a range of IP
addresses, but there is one IP in that range it never picks up on. If I remove
the range and just scan this one IP on its own, it shows up with the correct
results.

Why does it not find this IP address when I scan the range of IP's?

  Thanks in advance

  Andy
