Which is unwise. As it runs you into all kind of problems as you are
finding out the hard way.


proxy_username=firstname%20lastname


This is another user. Not you.


I tried proxy_username='firstname lastname'
and proxy_username="firstname lastname"


Only the last one may stand a change.

But try to get wget to fetch a file with these credentials before you
start testing with nessus.
