Plugin 19408 - MS05-039 - and Windows Server 2003

Subject: Plugin 19408 - MS05-039 - and Windows Server 2003
Date: Wed, 17 Aug 2005 17:49:30 -0000
I just ran a scan against a Win2K3 box I have, checking for the MS05-039
vulnerability. I have not yet patched the box, and so I expected it to show
up as vulnerable. My log shows that smb_kb899588.nasl ran against the
machine, yet it did not report that the box was vulnerable. After the scan,
I went to the machine and connected to Windows Update. One of the patches
that Windows Update says my machine requires is the update for kb899588
(MS05-039), so I know it's vulnerable. Anyone else have any trouble with
19408 and Win2K3?

Thanks.
