Hi, Can someone help me understand how Nessus works without crashing the target machine? E.g. If I have port 80 open and Nessus run many know exploits on it. How does Nessus know 1) If I have a hole on Port 80. 2) If I have already patched for it.....ALL WITHOUT COMPROMISE THE MACHINE? E.g If it is a buffer overflow, how Nessus know without causing a buffer overflow? Thanks in advance! Thanks, Xi Lu FDIC-CSIRT _______________________________________________ Nessus mailing list Nessus@list.nessus.org http://mail.nessus.org/mailman/listinfo/nessus
