I am running windows 2003 SP1 and I just finished scanning my server
with nessus 2.2.5. I ran a nessus-update-plugins at 1:34PM central time
today. I then ran the scan and this popped up:
Vulnerability found on port microsoft-ds (445/tcp)
The remote version of Windows contains a flaw in the Web Client
service which may allow
an attacker to execute arbitrary code on the remote host.
To exploit this flaw, an attacker would need credentials to log
into the remote host.
Solution :
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms05-028.mspx
Risk factor : High
CVE : CAN-2005-1207
BID : 13950
Nessus ID : 18484
According to the Microsoft technet article in the solution windows 2003
sp1 in not affected by this issue. Why did this vulnerability show
up?
Thanks,
Jason
