I am using nessus 2.2.4 on SuSE 9.3. Usually I run nessus on the same machine. Unfortuntely I tried now the nessuswx client version 1.4.5 instead of the linux nessus client because I read in the German version of the Syngress book "Nessus Security Scans" that the windows client would have some advantages. So I run a vwery time consuming (but legal!) big scan on a big subnet. nessuswx saved the results in a big binary data file of 8.5 MB size called "results" located in a subdirectory of my nessuswx-Installation on my windows workstation: c:\nessuswx\nessusdb\20050722-114135.session\22 Jul 2005[12@28@06].run\results The scan run properly and I could see the progress. Now after this weekend, after completion of the scan, I tried to view the report. But I got lots of warnings "Invalid NSR record - ignored" and the report is empty when I try to convert it to pdf or txt. On the other hand- the output of "strings results" on my linux machine shows me that the scan succeded and produced lots of correct output in the file "results". Is there a bug in nessuswx or where is my failure? How can I convert my original output file into a readable format? I want to avoid repeating the test with the nessus linux client because it is very time consuming... Thanks a lot for your anwers!
