I've followed the instructions on this webpage for doing wireless access point scanning with Nessus: http://www.tenablesecurity.com/images/pdfs/wap-id-nessus.pdf but didn't get any results, even though I knew of at least one WAP in the netblocks I was scanning. So I narrowed the scan down to just the IPs of a couple of WAPs and tried again. I get port scan results showing port 23, 80 and 22 are open. But even though the WAP plugin item is enabled, nothing comes up identifying the WAP. And this is a Cisco Aironet so it should definitely be identified. There's no firewall between the scanner and the WAP. I'm using Nessus v2.2.4 with the NessusWX GUI v1.4.5 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jeff Mercer - ITS Security & BTINet Systems Administration "This electronic message transmission contains information from the office of Jeff Mercer, ITC^DeltaCom, Inc., which may be confidential or privileged.
