One other quick question: I currently do not have nessusd automatically starting at system boot. I was planning on adding a line to the rc.local file in order to accomplish this. Do you foresee any problems by my doing so? Thanks.
If you do, make sure it starts in such a way that it can find all the subordinate executables in the path. I normally start it by hand from /usr/local/bin where my nikto, hydra and other executables (and config files) live. If you don't do something like that (or have a good shell script that has good environment paths and so on) some of your plugins won't work.
