I have installed nessus 2.2.4 in my redhat linux server. I don't know to configure or execute nessus client for unix in my server. Can any one explain how to execute & how to use nessus client in Linux.
Type "nessus" at a commandline. If you see the following
message:
---- snip, snip, snip ----
Ooops ...
This nessus version has no gui support. You need to give
nessus the
arguments SERVER PORT LOGIN TRG RESULT as explained in
more detail
using the --help option.
---- snip, snip, snip ----
you have a couple of choices:
1) Run nessus in batch as has been discussed already in
replies
to your postings.
2) Install GTK along with its development libraries and
rebuild / reinstall Nessus.
3) Use a different client; eg, NessusWX for Windows.
