I navigate to /usr/local/bin and do not see any of the hydra extentions.
What do you mean? Do you have at least hydra in /usr/local/bin?
I think I have gtk installed. I issued a rpm -qa | grep gtk2 and I get the following back: libwxgtk2.5_1-2.5.1-5.3.101mdk
I think these are the libraries for wxWindows / wxWidgets, not GTK itself. For that, you should have packages like: gtk+2.0 and libgtk+2.0.
