Thanks Jonathan! It loads at start up nessusd -D When I enter nessus at the prompt (either at console or from a console with KDE) I get: This nessus version has no gui support. I guess version 2.0.12 does not have a gui would that be correct? And if I download and install the 2.2.4 version would I suffer any consequences from port updating? Depends... Did you run nessusd -D if you did than nessus runs in the background. If you just run nessusd you can see the program running until you press ctrl-C Make sure you execute nessus through command line and not clicking the icon, I find by doing it that way I know wether or not its running. The default install path is /usr/local/sbin ~Jonathan -----Original Message----- From: nessus-bounces@list.nessus.org [mailto:nessus-bounces@list.nessus.org] On Behalf Of Buddy Shearer Sent: Wednesday, April 27, 2005 2:01 PM To: nessus@list.nessus.org Subject: I really hate asking this question but ... Hello... I just installed nessusd on FreeBSD 5.3 system. Just about all of the apps were loaded via ports as was nessus. I made the changes necessary according to docs and also ran nessus-mkcert Here is the confusing part. Where is the nessus client? I'm running KDE so I ran nessus and nothing happens. Did I miss something? Thanks all!
