You get this error because wget is used for downloading
plugins from nessus site. And the script could not find the
wget in it's PATH.

Look at the nessus-update-plugins script,

# The command we use to retrieve the plugins
#
fetch_cmd="/usr/local/bin/wget"

You have to install wget in your machine or edit this script 
such that fetch_cmd points to some other downolader
that you have in your system.

If you have wget installed in your ssytem, check whether
wget is under "/usr/local/bin". If not, edit the script such
that "fetch_cmd" points to the exact path of wget.
