False Positives on Plugin 10428 - SMB Fully Accessible Registry

Subject: False Positives on Plugin 10428 - SMB Fully Accessible Registry
Date: Wed, 26 Jan 2005 16:13:57 -0800

Suddenly I am getting what seems to be false positives using Nessus 2.2.2a
for all my Windows systems from Plugin 10428 (SMB Fully Accessible
Registry), where it notes that the registry is not fully accessible.

The false positives started somewhere between 11th Jan and 21st Jan. I am
using the latest plugins as of 13:30 Jan 26. However, If I reinstall Nessus
2.2.2a and use default plugins supplied with that install (i.e., I don't
update the plugins), then plugin 10428 works fine and does not complain that
the 'registry is not fully accessible'

Has something been changed on this plugin or it's dependencies?

Any thoughts?

I am using nessus 2.2.2a on Redhat ES 3 update 4.

Thanks

Peter Heard
