Nessus doesn't DNS resolve

When I launch a scan, I can't include DNS names, as it will fail.  If list
the targets by IP, it works perfectly.  (and DNS resolves within the first
few seconds of the scan.)  I understand that the plug-ins are doing the DNS
at this point, but why can't I use DNS during the scan setup?
 
I'm running Nessus 2.0.12 and using the latest version of NessusWX.
