| Subject: | Nessus 2.2.0 NMAP (NASL Wrapper) scan does not work with "default" Port Scan Range |

For Nessus 2.2.0, I cannot get the NMAP (NASL Wrapper) SYN (or TCP) port scan to run with the "default" port scan range (ie Scan the ports defined in the Nessus Services File). Nessus says it has run NMAP in the nessus log, but it never actually scans the default ports. When NMAP runs it terminates almost immediately and no nmap results are written to the report. Th NMAP port range used to be defined under the preferences tab in the nessus client, but these no longer seem to exist, leaving me no option other than the nessus services file. What I really want to scan for is "nmap-services + privileged ports" as I am able to do in Nessus 2.0.12 in the preferences tab. I posted this last week, but had no response. Could somebody check this out and let me know the result. I need to know if it a nessus bug or a configuration issue on my systems. I have tried with SUSE linux 9.1 and Redhat ES version 3 OS, using Nessus version 2.2.0 and 2.1.3. I have tried various versions of NMAP (3.0, 3.5 and 3.7) on both OSs all to no avail.
