Pardon the basic question, Khurt, but did you also install
each of them?

When running ./configure for nessus-core I get the following:

checking for NSCreateObjectFileImageFromFile... (cached) no
./configure: /usr/local/bin/nessus-config: No such file or directory

Does /usr/local/bin/nessus-config exist? What are its permissions?
